The Classic Center’s HCA program helps Georgia students land jobs and build industry connections

ATHENS, GA – August 21, 2026- The Classic Center continues to invest in the future of Georgia's hospitality industry through its annual Hospitality Careers Academy (HCA), which recently welcomed six high school students for an immersive week of learning, networking, and career development.

The program's impact was evident before the week ended. One HCA student received a job offer from a local hotel after participating in networking and job-shadowing opportunities throughout HCA. Another participant made a lasting impression on representatives from Levy, The Classic Center's food and beverage partner, who encouraged the student to reconnect upon graduating to explore future opportunities.

"One of the most rewarding parts of our workforce development initiatives is seeing students discover a passion for their future careers and get excited about it," said Paul Cramer, President/CEO of The Classic Center Authority. "HCA gives students the confidence, connections, and experiences they need to succeed. Investing in the next generation is creating a stronger future for our workforce, our community, and the state of Georgia."

HCA introduces students to the many career opportunities within the hospitality industry, from culinary arts and event planning to marketing, production, and venue operations. Throughout the week, participants gained valuable insight from industry professionals while building skills that will serve them long after the program ends.

During HCA 2026, students toured the Athens Coca-Cola Bottling Company, connected with hospitality and entertainment professionals, heard from an entertainment promoter, and worked together to plan and execute a large-scale event that welcomed more than 200 guests. Throughout the week, they developed meaningful professional relationships, gained confidence, and formed friendships with peers who share a passion for hospitality.

“I’m thinking of majoring in hospitality, and HCA was a good opportunity to see what these jobs look like on a day-to-day basis,” said Katie G., 2026 HCA Student. “After having this experience, hospitality is something I want to keep pursuing.”

As part of The Classic Center's ongoing commitment to workforce development and community engagement, HCA continues to connect students with industry leaders, provide meaningful hands-on experiences, and open doors to rewarding careers in one of Georgia's fastest-growing industries.

By investing in tomorrow's workforce today, The Classic Center is helping shape the future of hospitality, one student, one opportunity, and one unforgettable experience at a time.
