St. Mary's to Host Community Health Fair at Athens Regional Library

Athens, GA – St. Mary’s Health Care System is teaming up with the Athens-Clarke County Regional Library to host a free community health fair at the library on Tuesday, Jan. 27, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The library is located at 2025 Baxter Street, offers plenty of free parking, and is served by Athens Transit. The facility is ADA compliant and provides handicapped parking.

The fair will feature a variety of service providers and organizations to promote overall health and well-being. All services and information are free. St. Mary’s staff, including physicians from Community Internal Medicine of Athens, will provide:

Blood pressure screenings
Diabetes prevention and A1C screenings
End of life care information
Heart attack care (CPR)
Infection control information
Nutrition counseling with a registered dietitian
Stroke information and risk assessment

In addition, Athens Neighborhood Health Center and Advantage Behavioral Health Services will provide information and other services, Athens Pop Up Park will provide a free mobile activity bus with games and activities, the Athens-Clarke County Library social worker will be available, and Wholesome Wave will help qualifying people register for EBT.
