St. Mary’s Orthopedic Specialists Expanding to Chase Street

St. Mary’s Orthopedic Specialists (SMOS) will be moving into a larger office at 658 N. Chase St., Suite 201, Athens, on June 8 to provide ample space for the future expansion of the fast-growing practice.
 
The practice is currently located at 2740 Daniells Bridge Road, Suite 301, Athens, Ga.
 
SMOS is the practice of Dr. Randy Lavender, Jr., and Dr. David Woodbury. Dr. Lavender joined St. Mary’s Medical Group in December 2025 to form the practice, and Dr. Woodbury joined in March 2026. The two surgeons combined bring more than 34 years of experience to the Athens area, with special focuses on orthopedic sports medicine, adult reconstruction, hip and knee replacement and robotic procedures.
 
Dr. Lavender and Dr. Woodbury are now accepting new patients, with some next-day appointments available. Please note that some insurance plans require a physician referral.
