Dive into Fun for a Cause at the Rotary Club of Athens’ 14th Annual Polar Bear Plungefest on February 8!

ATHENS, Ga. – The Rotary Club of Athens invites the community to make a splash at the 14th Annual Polar Bear Plungefest, taking place on Saturday, February 8, at Lake Chapman in Sandy Creek Park.

With an entry fee of just $25 per participant, this exciting event combines fun, community spirit, and charitable giving. This year, all proceeds will support the Athens-Clarke County Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE), a local nonprofit dedicated to providing forensic medical examinations, evidence collection, advocacy, and education for victims of sexual assault. The Rotary Club of Athens has set a $30,000 fundraising goal for this year’s event, with over $10,000 already raised. The funds will directly benefit SANE, helping to provide critical resources and services to children and adults in need.

· Registration: Begins at 10 a.m.

· Plunge Time: 11 a.m.

· Location: Sandy Creek Park, Lake Chapman

· Costumes encouraged!
