Dr. Clayton Wing Joins Athens Orthopedic Clinic as New Orthopedic Surgeon

Athens, Ga. – August 25, 2025 – Athens Orthopedic Clinic (AOC) is proud to announce that Dr. Clayton Wing has joined the practice specializing in hip and knee replacement through various techniques tailored to each patient’s needs. His expertise includes the industry’s best practice muscle-sparing, direct anterior approach, as well as the use of robotic-assisted technology which makes surgery more accurate and personalized to patient alignment for the very best outcomes.

Dr. Wing brings an impressive background of clinical training and academic excellence. Most recently, he completed an Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla., where he focused on advanced techniques in hip and knee replacement. He previously completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Tennessee-Campbell Clinic, a nationally recognized leader in musculoskeletal care.

A native of Georgia, Dr. Wing earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia, graduating with honors. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a minor in Nutrition from the University of Georgia and also graduated from North Oconee High School. 

Dr. Wing has published extensively in top-tier orthopedic journals and has presented his research at national conferences. His clinical interests include joint replacement and outpatient arthroplasty. He is passionate about delivering personalized, evidence-based care to patients and is excited to return to the Athens area. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, golfing, cooking and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs.

Dr. Wing is now accepting appointments in Athens, and his clinic will expand to the AOC Greensboro location at Lake Oconee soon.
