CCSD Partners with Local Restaurants to Benefit Financial Literacy Education Program
Athens-Clarke County residents will have the opportunity on Thursday, April 30, to eat local and invest in Clarke County School District students and their financial literacy.
The district is pleased to partner with 10 participating locations on “Dining for Dividends,” a community “percentage day” event where a portion of sales at each location will be donated to the Gifted Savings financial literacy education program.
Participating locations and hours include:
- Molly's Coffee Company (8830 Macon Hwy.) – 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Marti's at Midday (1280 Prince Ave.) – All day during hours of business
- The Globe (199 North Lumpkin St.) – All day during hours of business
- Taziki's Mediterranean Cafe (227 Prince Ave.) – All day during hours of business
- 5 & 10 (1073 South Milledge Ave.) – Dinner
- Chick-Fil-A Beechwood (196 Alps Rd.) – 5-8 p.m. Customers must order through mobile app. Select "Supporting Community Event for CCSD Gifted Savings." Enter code "Savings" at check out.
- Seabear (297 Prince Ave. Suite 10) – Dinner
- Preacher Green's (1995 Barnett Shoals Rd.) - All day during hours of business
- Em’s Kitchen (975 Hawthorne Ave. Suite B) - All day during hours of business
- Your Pie (196 Alps Rd.) - All day during hours of business
Gifted Savings provides every graduating senior with a $1,000 investment portfolio that they can take full control of once they turn 18 and successfully complete all of their online learning modules in the program. Last August, CCSD became the first school district nationally to implement the program districtwide with the Class of 2026 as the inaugural graduating class with the help of a $1.2 million gift from an anonymous donor.
The district is relying on community support to continue funding the initiative in future years. A private donor has pledged a dollar-for-dollar match — up to $400,000 — to fully fund the program for the Class of 2027.
If you are unable to participate or visit one of these locations on April 30 but would still like to support this program, you can donate to the CCSD Gifted Savings fund through the Athens Area Community Foundation.
