ACCA is looking for a Marketing/Communications Director to join our Leadership Team.
 
About Us: Founded in 1967, the Athens Community Council on Aging is a private, Non-Profit organization providing services to older adults and adults with disabilities in 27 counties of Northeast and East Georgia. Through innovative programs and service delivery, ACCA provides opportunities for individuals of all ages and abilities to age and live well.
 
Our BOLDly Reimagine Aging Well Strategy reflects our commitment to innovation and sustainability. As we evolve to meet the needs of today’s older adults, marketing is central to our ability to shift perceptions, expand participation, and attract new partners.
 
The Role: The Marketing Director will provide vision and leadership for all marketing, communications, and public relations efforts at ACCA. Reporting directly to the President/CEO, this position serves as a key member of the Leadership Team, shaping organizational strategy and ensuring ACCA’s story is told powerfully and consistently across all platforms.
 
Essential Responsibilities:
 
This is both a strategic and hands-on role. The Marketing/Communications Director will:
  •  Develop and oversee comprehensive marketing strategies that advance fundraising, increase program participation, and build ACCA’s reputation as a vibrant hub for aging well.
  • Serve as lead media spokesperson (with the CEO), manage crisis communications, and provide counsel to leadership and the Board.
  • Direct ACCA’s digital presence, including website, social media, and email, ensuring content is compelling, timely, and aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Lead branding and communications for special events, advocacy efforts, and donor campaigns.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media, influencers, and community partners to amplify ACCA’s impact.
  • Oversee the production of Connections, ACCA’s quarterly publication.
  • Establish and monitor annual marketing goals, KPIs, and budget, reporting regularly to the CEO and Board.
 The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader and creative storyteller with strong strategic, digital, and interpersonal skills.

 Essential Requirements:
  •  We stay busy but like to have fun!  A great sense of humor is a must!
  • In love with ACCA and its mission and ready to shout it from the rooftops.
  • Impeccable written and oral communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or related field.
  • 5–7 years of progressively responsible marketing/communications experience; nonprofit experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership and strategic planning skills.
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and digital marketing platforms.
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
  • Must have a valid Georgia Driver’s License.

 Our Hiring Process & Timeline:
  • We will receive and review resumes through October 17th, 2025.
  • We will begin scheduling interviews on October 29th, 2025.
  • In-person interviews will begin on November 1st, 2025. 
  • Finalists will be invited to a second-round interview, and we will make an offer shortly after.
