The Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Athens, Georgia, serving 25 counties in Northeast Georgia. Our mission is to alleviate the financial burden of cancer for eligible patients through our Financial Assistance and Nutritional Assistance programs. Job Summary:

The Corporate Donor Relations and Events Manager is responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with corporate donors while planning and executing The Cancer Foundation’s fundraising events. This position is crucial for increasing corporate sponsorships, enhancing donor engagement, and generating revenue through strategic partnerships and well-executed events. The role has a revenue goal of $615,000, including specific benchmarks for events and corporate donor contributions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, creative, and excels in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Corporate Donor Relations Management (Time 40%)

  • Build and manage a robust portfolio of corporate donors to achieve an annual revenue goal of $300,000.
  • Acquire corporate donors to fund campaigns and donor programs.
  • Research, prospect, cultivate, and steward fundraising relationships with corporate donors, focusing on cancer-related industries (i.e., pharmaceutical, healthcare, hospice, funeral homes, and financial assistance program vendor companies).
  • Actively engage corporate donors through regular communication, in-person meetings, and event invitations.
  • Work closely with the Development Director to develop and execute stewardship, recognition, and retention strategies, execute approved sponsorship benefits, and ensure corporate donor engagement with events and campaigns.
  • Monitor the monthly revenue budget and provide weekly pipeline, activity, and revenue reports during development team meetings.
  • Achieve and exceed prospect, stewardship, and solicitation activities to consistently meet or surpass revenue.
  • Represent The Cancer Foundation at corporate events, business networking opportunities, and corporate engagement activities.

Event Planning and Execution (Time 40%)

  • Lead the planning and executing of fundraising events to meet or exceed annual event revenue goals associated with the foundation's yearly events.
  • Implement strategies to increase event revenue through sponsorships, auctions, and direct donations.
  • Oversee all event logistics, including venue selection, budgeting, vendor coordination, ticket sales, and volunteer management.
  • Achieve and exceed event management activities to consistently meet or surpass attendance and revenue goals associated with annual events.
  • Collaborate with organizational leadership, programs, and development teams to ensure the event aligns with the organization's strategic goals.
  • Develop and manage event timelines, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and informing leadership and stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Maintain event expenses within the approved budget.
  • Implement promotional strategies, including print and digital marketing materials, social media campaigns, email outreach, event webpages, and advertisements, to maximize attendance and visibility.
  • Oversee attendee relations and logistics, including registration, ticketing, guest management, and on-site operations to ensure positive attendee experiences.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to support event needs effectively.
  • Work with leadership to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, permits, and health and safety guidelines.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to identify successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • In collaboration with the Development Director, complete a post-event report to organizational leadership.

Fundraising Operations, Donor Outreach, Data Management, and Reporting: (Time 15%)

  • Work with the Director of Development to manage and implement the organization’s digital strategy, supporting the annual fundraising plan/goals through online fundraising campaigns, including donor emails, fundraising social media content, social media ad campaigns, and newsletters.
  • Submit detailed budget updates for upcoming events to the Director of Development.
  • Draft and submit updates to the Director of Development on ongoing projects.
  • Maintain detailed donor interactions and engagement records in the donor database.
  • Maintain detailed prospect interactions and engagement donor records
  • Provide regular updates to the Development Director and Executive Director on Event Planning and Execution, Corporate Donor Relations and Fundraising Operations, Donor Outreach, and Data Management KPIs through weekly development team meetings, staff meetings, end-of-campaign debriefs, and post-event wrap-up meetings.
  • Participate in organizational meetings such as staff meetings and department meetings and collaborate on cross-departmental initiatives.

Other Duties as Assigned: (Time 5%)

  • Perform other responsibilities to support the organization’s mission and strategic objectives.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in corporate relationship management, event planning and coordination, fundraising, or a related role.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and fundraising goals.
  • Experience in event planning and management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of audiences.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, proven to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, Canva, Mailchimp, social media platforms, and donor database software/CRM systems.
  • Proficient in digital marketing and social media engagement.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to travel throughout the 25-county service area and Metro Atlanta as needed.

Compensation: The salary range is $50,000 to $60,000 annually. Competitive salary commensurate with experience. The Cancer Foundation offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, a retirement plan, and paid time off.
