Chef Mack Bui invites you to join us for this hands-on cooking class with his award winning recipe for Shrimp and Grits. We’ll explore a creative fusion of Southern comfort and vibrant Mediterranean flavors. Together we’ll prepare a reimagined version of the classic Southern dish, shrimp and grits, layering in bright herbs, citrus, and olive oil inspired by Mediterranean cuisine. Participants will learn how to cook creamy, perfectly seasoned grits while building a bold shrimp dish featuring garlic, fresh herbs, tomatoes, and other Mediterranean elements that complement the richness of this Southern staple. A unique recipe that won 2nd Place in the Georgia Shrimp and Grits Festival. Throughout the class, we’ll cover essential techniques including: Cooking smooth, creamy grits Properly sautéing shrimp Building balanced flavor with herbs, acid, and spices Combining regional culinary traditions into a cohesive dish By the end of the class, you'll enjoy the finished dish together and leave with the recipe, techniques, and inspiration to recreate this Mediterranean-Southern fusion at home. Perfect for home cooks of all skill levels who enjoy bold flavors, seafood, and creative takes on classic dishes. Wine pairings are available with this class. If chosen, you will get to try two wines to go with your dish. These wines have been carefully selected by our sommelier to complete your palate. A “perfetto” pairing!
