DESCRIPTION:Make plans to attend the Athens Area Chamber's Signature Event\, our 118th Annual Meeting.  This special program kicks off with a highlight of the Chamber's successful 2021 as well as an update on the programs and plans set for this year.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\nWe welcome special guest Karen Vogelsang.  Karen leads "Arise to Read" in Memphis\, TN\, which has been focused on the critical need of building third grade reading scores.  This simple\, yet complex initiative has begun to transform their public school system.\n\n\n\nFinally\, the evening culminates with the Awards ceremony in which individuals and organizations will be recognized who have made a significant impact in our community in the following categories:\n\n	Ambassador of the Year Sponsored by James Bates Brannan Groover\n	ATHENA Award Sponsored by Heyward Allen Automotive\n	Spirit of Athens Award Sponsored by Synovus\n	Small Business of the Year Sponsored by Lowe Electric Supply\n	Upshaw Bentley Citizen of the Year Award\n	Athens Area Community Foundation Non-Profit of the Year\n	Clarke County School District Educator of the Year
