Please join the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce as we celebrate the Ribbon Cutting for The Cancer Foundation. The Cancer Foundation is a local non-profit whose mission is to “help alleviate the financial burden of cancer for patients” throughout Northeast Georgia. Based in Athens and serving 25 Northeast Georgia counties, The Cancer Foundation has distributed more than $4million in financial assistance to over 5,000 local cancer patients since their founding. The Cancer foundation provides financial support to cancer patients in active treatment to address the non-medical barriers to care, such as housing, utilities, transportation, and nutritional food.
