Description
Athens Volunteer Fair is a way to match your social justice passion with the needs that exist right now, right around us in Athens. We’ve invited local orgs around town working for justice in every issue from food insecurity to environmental protection, childhood literacy to economic inequality, LGBTQIA+ rights to disability advocacy, gun safety to animal rescues, and the list goes on. Volunteering is activism on the community level. It is action you can take now to help support, protect, and enrich the lives of those directly around you, transforming compassion and the desire for equity into real & immediate change. We’ll have ways for folks of any age & ability to volunteer, because everyone should be able to help their way to a better community, and to put their desire for change into tangible action. We hope you’ll join us for an afternoon of hope, of positive transformation, and of being the helper Athens needs.
